Public transports work very well in Bavaria.
It is possible to travel by train from Munich Airport to the Tegernsee Station in about 2 hours for about 23 EUR and from Munich Main Station to the Tegernsee Train Station in about 1 hour for about 15 EUR: see http://www.bahn.de

The driver will have a sign "Ringberg castle" and will await you in the arrival area C.

A stop is scheduled at Munich Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) at 12.00 pm (sharp).

Wait for the bus with sign: "Ringberg castle".

Additional informations:

The bus will reach Ringberg at about 1:00 pm. If there is a lot of snow, the bus cannot ascend the driveway to the castle. In that case, we will order taxis that will take over from there. We would recommend not to walk uphill instead, since the schedule is quite tight and you might miss lunch or the registration.
Taxi shuttle on Monday Dec 11 from Tegernsee Train Station:

For those of you that arrive by train in Tegernsee, there will be a taxi pick-up at two times:
11:15 am and 12:15 pm. The taxi will take you to Ringberg castle. You will not need to pay the taxi, since we will have a collective bill from the taxi company.

Hotel guests:

Guests at the Hotel Bachmair Alpina in Rottach-Egern will be picked up by taxi on Monday evening at 8:30 pm at the castle. From Tuesday, pick-up at the hotel (after breakfast) will be at 8:30 am in the morning.

Departure day:

from Castle to Munich Airport on Friday Dec. 15 at 2.00 pm.

A stop is scheduled at Munich Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) at 3 pm (arrival at the Munich Airport around 4 pm).

The Bus trip takes about 2 hours. If you wish to join the bus, please plan your travels accordingly.

Conclusion of the Workshop: Friday, Dec 15th at 12:30 pm.

NOTE: By default, check-in at the Castle is on Monday morning and check-out on Friday morning.

If strictly needed, lodging for a few can be arranged starting from Sunday afternoon, when a porter will let the guests in and give them the keys. IMPORTANT: There will be no dinner served on Sunday evening, the first meal will be breakfast on Monday morning. Transportation to the castle on Sunday afternoon must be arranged by the individuals. Alternatively, participants may want to spend the evening in Munich and then leisurely take the train towards Tegernsee on Monday morning.
Transportation
The conference fee of 300 Euros and travel costs will be borne by the participants. We ask you to pay the registration fee in *cash* at the castle registration desk.
The organized bus/shuttle services as well as the accommodation and all meals will be covered by the organizers through Max Planck Society grants.
